I Climbed A Mountain, Not Only Hills...

Here came my Mt. Kinabalu adventure trip which I have expected since long.
We started the climb at Mersilau Trail at 0830, 19th Aug 2010, it took 8km for us to reach Laban Rata. Tho' the Mersilau Trail was 2km longer than the Timpohon Trail, yet I found the trail was more interesting, and with more better scenery, more flora and fauna found along the trail. Weather up the mountain can be changed from sunny to foggy anytime, it's just so sudden. Luckily there's no heavy rain at our way up the mountain. That's the blessing part, i think :)

The way was getting tougher at last 2km upon reaching Laban Rata, it was the trail with all kinds of big and small stones. And it may be due to we have been climbing for so many kms, and we wanted to reach Laban Rata eagerly, yet it made us felt so long to reach.

I reached at Laban Rata at 1705 on the same day. We were stopping at Laban Rata for our dinner. Mojority of the climbers were from the west. After dinner, we walked to our hut futher up from Laban Rata, Gunting Lagadan Hut. Once reaching the hut, it started to rain heavily. We were so worry that the rain won't be stop so soon, and it might stop us to climb up to the peak. Guessed some members prayed hard that the rain would stop. Yeah, it's another blessing we have, the rain stopped when it came to midnight.

We got awake at 0200, 20th Aug 2010. Got ready on our gear, we started our climb to the peak via the Summit Trail at 0245. Oh gosh, it was so cold on our way up to the peak, it's 8 degree celcius that morning. Strong wind was blowing towards us non-stop. Plus it's a totally dark way up all the way! Cousin Hong was not feeling well at half way of the trail. At one time, we almost wanted to stop the climb and U-Turn back. But our strong determination have got us to reach the peak!

Something weird happened to me when I was climbing up, I almost wanted fall to sleep. Haha...wondering why, may be I woke up at 0200. I found a big stone for me to hide from the strong wind, I asked my bro and cousin to hide there with me together. And I wanted to sleep while hiding there. Again, my strong determination moved me up again. I climbed...climbed... and I reached Low's Peak at 0630. Sun was rising up! What a good day! I was so happy as I was standing at 4095.2m, the highest peak in SEA! Bravo, I have finally made one of my life mission came real, it's a great achievement I have made!

Kinabalu Park Sabah

Reaching Sabah after a 2.5 hours of flight journey from KL. My first time step into Sabah, yet to me is just as same as any other places found in West Malaysia. Just I found some peoples look alike Malay but they are not, they are Kadazan, Iban or etc. A lot of churchs found here too!

Not going to the city yet. Our first stop is Mt Kota Kinabalu. Took another 2 hours riding journey to reach the Kinabalu Park. Weather is cooler, scenery is prettier. Registering ourselves to the park, getting our mountain guide, transportation and accomodation arranged. We were checking into D'Villa resthouse, 5 mins drive from the park.

Check into my room, found a nice balcony in my room with nice scenery. It's getting cloudy at the park here. I wish tommorow will be a good sunny day as our hiking to Mt KK is starting tommorow! God bless and we will make it a great one!

Kiehl's Yerba Maté Tea

I am using Kiehl's Yerba Maté Tea cleanser and toner now. Both products are suiting me, who is having oily combination skin type. In fact, the products are suitable for skin types.

Yerba Maté is a kind of herb from South Africa, that contains practically all of the vitamins, to help to help maintain a healthy-looking, youthful vivacity. It is effectively removes excess oil and residue to help reveal skin's natural radiance. See more detail on the Kiehl's homepage.

Yeah, it does help to control the oil extraction on my skin, especially the T zone. The toner is mild and it soothe my skin nicely. I feel the comfy and cleanse on my skin after using it on my face.

Kiehl's consultant always give customers free sample to try on when you buy the product from the store. I came across to know Yerba Maté Tea products when I first bought the facial scrub from the store. So if you happen to buy any in the store, remember to seek the consultancy from cosultant before she gives you any free sample to try on.

Happy trying Kiehl's!

Days without Car...

These few days, I have no car to use. So I am depending on my brother, friend and colleague to fetch me, and also taking public transport. And with this, I am able to experience the life with public transport.
It's hard for me to think of what public transport to take to work... LRT? KTM? Putra Bus? Cab? Finally, I took cab to work, as I am working onsite at client's office now, the cab fare is claimable from company. As for going home after work, I followed my colleague's car to Citibank KL, and I took the LRT at Ampang Park station. When reaching Kelana Jaya station, I called brother to fetch me on Wednesday night, and I took Rapid Putra Bus with 10 minutes walk back to home last night. RM1 per ride on the bus to my taman, it's just the distance of a bus stop.

Sharing a bit on the experiences, I got into a cab without meter chanrging on the day I met the accident, due to rushing time, I took it. The days after, I got the cabs with meter charging and good drivers, no complaint for the cab ride. While for the Putra LRT, so far so good, no broken down, reached on time, so I got no complaint this too. I just took a bus ride last night, with a short distance. The bus was starting the journey on time. The officer at the station was helpful. No complaint too!

Sound good with my experiences on the public transport. May be it was just for 2-3 days only. Friends who are taking public transport alway complaint to me how poor is public transport at our country. I personally feel that the public transport in our country need more improvements still, so for us who used to drive around will take public tranports to certain place at certain time more conveniently. And it will help much in helping the world to go green too!

I have got my car back from workshop, will be back as a driver on the road on Monday! I promise I will drive carefully :)
